Katrina Trinick Ceramics

Individual hand built ceramic garden sculpture and water features. Inspired from natural forms, fossils and ancient carvings of labyrinths and spirals.

I studied ceramics at The Central School of Art and Design, London. Since this time I have lectured in ceramics and continued to develop my own work. In over thirty years of working with clay I have exhibited widely and my work has been bought for private collections in America, Europe and the Middle East. I was made a member of the Craft Potters Association in 1992.

My inspiration comes from organic forms – pebbles, shells, fossils and plants. I love the sea and the shore, these are the greatest influences on my work. I am also fascinated by the spirals, labyrinths and other symbols carved into rock in prehistoric times.

My current work covers a variety of garden ceramics and I have now extended this to water features.

My Garden Ceramics are purely sculptural and are suitable for indoors or in the garden. Because of the organic nature of these forms they are at their best amongst plants, or perhaps beside water.

In time they will grow moss and truly blend in with their surroundings. Because they are hollow in construction they are not very heavy and can be easily moved around, although they appear to be large, carved or textured boulders.

Some forms have a hollow on the top forming a basin (like water-weathered moorland granite) these will collect water and could be incorporated into water features.
