Five Tips About an Inflatable Hot Tub You Can’t Afford to Miss

Having a hot tub to ease into whenever you want really is a pleasure and a private luxury. To get the best out of yours, and make sure it stays a valuable part of your home, follow these 5 easy tips:

1 Decking. Hot tubs and decking go together, for a few reasons. Raised decking with a rail around gives a degree of privacy, which is what you want when relaxing in a hot tub, either alone or with friends. Decking also has the plus of keeping your tub away from your lawn or patio, so your grass won’t fade and die, or your paving gets damaged by water. As well as being fun and healthy, a hot tub should be very much part of your home.

2 Safety first. It’s tempting to throw caution to the wind and just jump into a hot tub when the mood takes you. This can be dangerous, especially as hot tubs tend to be the centre of attention when people are partying in the back garden. If you’re planning a party yourself in the near future, be sure to check out some reviews of top inflatable hot tubs . Remember, water and some things don’t mix, so it might pay to have one or two notices in obvious places for those who don’t use tubs often. Obvious things to remember are not to take anything electrical near the tub and don’t use glass, always stick to plastic cups or bottles.

3 Monthly maintenance. If you use your hot tub regularly, you should change the water once a month. This is because the water absorbs chemicals from all sorts of places; the detergents used to wash swimming costumes, chemicals from the air, rain, and things carried in on people’s skin are just a few examples. After a while, your hot tub water can’t actually dissolve any more of what are called Total Dissolved Solids (TDS). You don’t want you or your loved ones to be bathing in these, do you?

4 Temperature tips. Hot tubs need to have chemicals added to keep the water clean and the acidity at the right level; all of these are easily dealt with, as per your user manual. As well as this, however, you can get the best out of your tub by thinking about the temperature. Especially if you have kids, you need to make sure the water’s not too hot; tubs usually need about 12-24 hours to heat up to the optimal temperature.

5 Winter care. With the best will in the world, you’re not likely to use your hot tub all year round. In the cold, wet winter months, your tub will need protection. When you’ve used it for the last time, take half an hour or so to drain it thoroughly, take the filters out and clean everything properly. Close and lock the lid, and maybe cover with something weatherproof, until it’s time to have a grand hot tub reopening party. If you leave it out the water can freeze causing irreversible damage to the tub, not to mention the volatile weather we get in the UK, it can easily cause tears and rips in the lining.
