Audrey Hayes is a Manchester-based artist and designer who makes wooden sculpture, vessels, furniture and wall pieces. Her unique designs range in scale from large outdoor sculptural furniture to table-top vessels, made predominantly from discarded wood.

Inspired by the organic qualities of the material, as well as by the challenge of preserving its simplicity, Audrey strives to capture a presence in her work that invites the viewer to touch, question and caress each piece.

Many of the designs, from solid oak garden benches to delicate wall pieces, are finished with a signature scorching technique. This gives the work not only a curious unnatural flavour but also a bold and distinctive aesthetic. Audrey is able to maintain the wonderful organic qualities of the material whilst offering a contemporary and minimalist form.
