Description

As the lead up to the RHS Flower Show at Tatton Park gathers pace, the Royal Horticultural Society has arrived in Cheshire to start the extensive operation of putting the show together.

With more than 60 gardens and features, seven main marquees, and hundreds of other smaller structures to build across 29 acres, it’s a big job. Enough tent canvas to cover nearly 60 tennis courts will be used and 4,650 chairs will need to be put out!

This year, the RHS will also be constructing the longest ever Floral Marquee in the show’s history, which will house almost 100 growers showcasing their prize plant specimens.

Kris Hulewicz, show manager for Tatton, says, “After twelve months of working on and planning for this year’s show, me and the RHS shows team are really pleased to get on site to see everything taking shape. The first few weeks will be taken up with marking out the showground and laying the trackway, but it won’t be long before all our 600 exhibitors join us!”

The garden designers will arrive on site to start building their gardens from 2nd July, with the aim of getting them ready for judging on 17th July.

The RHS Flower Show at Tatton Park takes place between 18 and 22 July, with 18 July reserved for RHS members. To book tickets call 0870 842 2229 or visit www.rhs.org.uk/flowershows <http://www.rhs.org.uk/flowershows> . To find out more call the RHS shows recorded information line on 020 7649 1885.
