Pudding Promotion
As Europe’s largest conservation charity, with 3.5 million members, the National Trust is passionate about promoting quality, local, seasonal and sustainable food. The charity is committed to the best of British and the renowned culinary traditions of its regions. At Trust restaurants traditional recipes are really celebrated and cooked with contemporary flair.
This autumn visitors to National Trust properties can experience many seasonal delights – menus change regularly but here’s a taster of some autumnal treats; Orchard cake from Cliveden in Buckinghamshire, Steamed Plum pudding from Blickling Hall in Norfolk, Braised Welsh Lamb Shank with Damsons from Powis Castle in Wales and Potato and Butternut Squash broth from Upton House in Warwickshire.
Visitors to National Trust properties over this October will get a chance to see the Trust’s local and seasonal focus in full flow as many of the restaurants and tea-rooms take part in the 2007 National Trust Pudding Promotion.
As the days get shorter and that little bit colder do you find your taste buds tingling at the thought of a home made pudding still warm from the oven and oozing with the delicious flavours of Autumn? Well if so, the National Trust is here to help as from the 1 to the 31 October visitors to the participating properties (a full list of which can be found at www.nationaltrust.org.uk) will have the opportunity to enjoy a free seasonal pudding when they take their pudding voucher and purchase a main course over £5.75
Pudding promotional vouchers can be found at www.nationaltrust.org.uk/pudding throughout September. To claim your pudding simply download your voucher, fill in the details required and hand in the completed voucher at any of the participating restaurants/tea-rooms between the 1-31 October.

Autumnal Trick & Treats with the National Trust
The National Trust has a host of activities this autumn so if you’re looking to get out into the fresh air, track down a few ghosts, go batty with wildlife or just scare yourselves silly then we’ve got the perfect day out just waiting for you!

Now is one of the best times of year to get all the family out into the countryside, breathing in the sights and sounds of autumn – what better feeling is there than walking through a gloriously golden wood and hearing the crunch of leaves under your feet.
And as this time of year is also renowned for a bit of trick and treating fun and many of our properties are rumoured to house a few resident ghosts where else would you rather enter into the spooky seasonal spirit! Exposed! Climate Change in Britain’s backyard’
Ten of the UK’s top photographers have captured climate change through the lens. The result is a series of beautiful, thought-provoking and intimate images taken on location at National Trust properties, coupled with stories from the people who care for these special places. If you haven’t yet seen this year’s exhibition: ‘Exposed – Climate change in Britain’s Backyard’, then you have a chance to do so at Sizergh between 10 and 30 September. Along with 15 stunning images highlighting the effects of climate change at National Trust properties across the UK, a giant game of Snakes and Ladders provides a thought provoking way of illustrating what we can do to reduce our individual carbon footprint, and there will be an opportunity to tell us what you are already doing at home and at work to combat the effects of climate change. Exposed is supported by the Defra fund ‘Tomorrow’s Climate, Today’s Challenge’.
The Trust’s Exposed! Climate Change in Britain’s backyard’ exhibition has its South West launch at the Bristol City Museum & Art Gallery on 8 November. It is on from 10 November to 9 December.
