Malleny Garden
Description
Much appreciated for its atmosphere of peace and tranquillity, Malleny is the garden to visit for a few hours of quiet contemplation among beautiful surroundings. Renowned for its flamboyant plantings of oldfashioned roses (for which Malleny holds a prestigious NCCPG award) and herbaceous perennials arranged with an eye for pleasing colour combinations, this 3-acre walled garden is dominated by four magnificent clipped yew trees dating from the 17th century. You can also enjoy the vegetable and herb garden, the Victorian greenhouse, and the surrounding area of woodland which adds to the aura of shelter and seclusion.
The doocot, adjacent to the privately let house, has been recently repaired with financial assistance from Historic Scotland, and access can be arranged by contacting the Head Gardener.
