The highly prestigious historic properties that have agreed to host the Tulip Festivals are:

The Alnwick Garden – Saturday 10th April through to Thursday 15th April;

Chatsworth (as part of their Spring Florabundance) – Saturday 1st May to Thursday 6th May;

Leeds Castle – Tuesday 20th April to Tuesday 27th April;

Lost Gardens of Heligan – Monday 26th April to Monday 3rd May

Waddesdon Manor on Thursday 1st April to Friday 30th April and

Powerscourt, Ireland – Wednesday 14th April to Sunday 18th April.

Says de Jager owner, George Clowes, “We wanted to demonstrate to visitors to the gardens and properties how magnificent tulips are. How better to do this than to plant them in the grounds. We shall also be giving out a handy pocket guide that contains the exciting history of the tulip – ‘Tulip Mania’. All the tulips on display, whether they are growing in the grounds or are cut and arranged in vases will all be carefully labelled so that visitors know exactly what they are called.”

Some of the venues will be offering group discounts for visitors and some venues will be letting certain categories of visitors, like WI members, in at reduced rates on certain days, so it is best to check with the individual locations regarding these offers. Continues George, “We look forward to welcoming and meeting lots of tulip lovers at the festivals.”

de Jager’s new catalogue, containing over 365 summer flowering bulbs, including 73 varieties which are either new or re-introductions, has just been released.
