Getting kids playing and working in the garden is great fun for everyone. And it can be educational too – they’ll find out how plants grow, what they need to stay healthy, and learn about wildlife from bugs and minibeasts to birds and small mammals. And there’s nothing they enjoy more than growing vegetables that the whole family can eat. Make it fun and safe by giving them their own gardening tools for kids – designed to be lightweight and just the right size for smaller hands. Start them off with easy-to-grow plants – sunflowers, radishes, carrots and cornflowers are easy for beginners. And they’ll love their own patch if you have room. Otherwise, let them loose with a couple of containers on the patio.
