Description

“Checkmate?”
Bishops Waltham Garden Club
The base is constructed of materials treated and laid to form a chessboard. And ceramic or terracotta pots will be painted black and white respectively.
Plants will represent the chess pieces and the exhibit will be an outdoor game capable of being played by moving pots around the ‘board’.
Witch Doctor
Camelia Botnar Homes & Gardens
A planted terracotta cauldron will hang from a large sculptured wrought iron quadruped frame with a large hook. Underneath will be a fire pit containing plants representing flames.
The atmosphere will be enhanced with judicious use of items associated with witchcraft such as feathers, wooden artefacts and bones.
Every Cloud Has A Silver Lining
Capel Gardeners Society
With the effects of global warming approaching, ‘Every Cloud Has A Sliver Lining’ reflects how warmer, dry summers present opportunities for certain plants to prosper.
Home & Dry
Creative Containers
As drought-tolerant planting becomes increasingly important, Home & Dry presents an attractive combination of container planting intended to inspire those with the smallest of spaces.
Plants have been chosen to cascade over the containers to give the design a unity of form, texture and colour (mainly pinks and greys).
Racing Green
Hanging Gardens Nurseries
The focal feature of ‘Racing Green’ is the shell of a Mini Cooper car, planted with a selection of alpines and other drought tolerant plants, suitable for use in containers.
The surface area will include recycled materials such as old bolts, screws and nuts. The containers will also be constructed using old tyres and recycled pots.
Bee Haven
Humbees Of Marwell
‘Bee Haven’ consists of a bee hive and uses the complementary planting of a wild flower section, a lawn and country cottage aspect.
Beach Barbecue
Lightwater Gardening Club
The main feature of this space is a portable barbecue planted with Sempervivums. It will also feature galvanised cylinders resembling oil drums, and painted, recycled catering cans.
The planting will be in reds, oranges and yellows and the materials used will include sand, pebbles and shells.
Lazy Days of Summer
Pound Farm Shop & Plant Centre
A bright and bold display of perennials, annuals and bedding plants planted in wicker baskets, a Singer treddle and various pots.
A parasol and chair come alive covered in brightly coloured climbers. A relaxing place to laze around in the summer!
Use it or Lose it!
Richmond Adult Community College
This space is to be built using recycled and reclaimed material from the college estate only. The surface will be stained wood from pallets and reclaimed bricks from the construction section.
The containers and seat will be made from an old art easel and other features of interest will include an old metal anvil previously used in the metalwork area and old terracotta pots.
A Mediterranean View
Southend Youth Offending Services
A small area with four wooden planters and a slate path between them, forming an area of sanctuary.
