Garden Organic Celebrates 20 Years at Ryton

The organic gardening charity Garden Organic (formerly HDRA) is celebrating 20 years since it moved to Ryton Organic Gardens, near Coventry. They moved there from Bocking in Essex in July 1986 and celebrations will continue throughout the year. On March 5 visitors will be given a piece of a giant compost cake (!). The gardens will be awakening with spring bulbs.

On Sunday, 20 August, a Tropical Day will mark the anniversary with international music, dance, food and workshops and the festivities will end with a new Organic Harvest event on Saturday, 9 September, when the Heritage Seed Library team will show how they conserve old and unusual vegetables and encourage visitors to grow their own organic food.
