Wake up call February 2010

Wake up call February 2010
Description
My triangular prairie, 5 m2 invisible behind the garage,  was the location of many fond gardening memories and education during the two years I lived in Suffolk .

Standard procedure was to go down there with my tranny which was bought as my homemade 1975 walkman, for listening to the cricket, whilst cycling to school. Normally on a Saturday it was  used at this time for listening to football and in fact I can remember one, never to be forgotten day, Sprinting back into the house crying my eyes out after listening to the commentator describing the Hillsborough disaster whilst planting some , now irrelevant, seeds..

One night , I was awoken at c 0200 by what I thought was a local party. Unused to such noise, in the middle of Suffolk, I aggressively jumped out of bed, went downstairs and threw the front door open, expecting to be deafened by the party which, for some reason, I hadn’t been invited to

I followed the source of the noise down the drive and towards my vegetable patch where I found, perched on a post, my ancient tranny, left there 6 hour before,, blaring out night time noise.

Embarrassingly I trundled back inside to now awake management to explain the source of our middle of the night wake up call.
