The Walled Garden At Cowdray

In 2001 while searching for new premises for her award winning garden company, Room in the Garden, Jan Howard was introduced to a totally neglected secret garden concealed within its original Tudor brick walls adjacent to the historic Cowdray Ruins. Jan was immediately inspired and agreed a lease with the Cowdray Estate which enabled her to restore the ancient garden to her own design in sympathy with its history. This privately funded restoration project was completed in 2005 thanks to Jan’s vision and energy and the support of The Cowdray Estate and The Walled Garden Sponsors.

The Walled Garden at Cowdray is a magnificent and unique venue which is a wonderful setting, day and night, throughout the seasons. Marquees can be erected on the central lawn allowing your event to be held in the surroundings of this beautiful, restored garden enclosed by Tudor walls with the backdrop of the historic Cowdray Ruins. The Castle Room and The Courtyard Room feature Georgian stonework and are elegant by day and magical at night. They offer excellent acoustics for music and facilities for conferences. Easy access, ample parking, frequent train services from London and adjacent helicopter pads. Excellent local accommodation available.

The Walled Garden at Cowdray is open for visitors:
Monday to Friday 9 am– 5 pm Entrance Fee: £3.50
Weekends 10.30am – 5pm Fee: £3.50

Season Tickets are available for purchase for £15 giving the ticket holder and one guest unlimited visits to the garden for a one year period.
