The Spalding Flower Parade 5 to 7 May 2012

Eat, Drink and be Merry!

The Spalding Flower Parade 2012

The plans for the 2012 Spalding Flower Parade are well underway and the theme for next year will be Food Glorious Food. The Parade will be held on Saturday 5th May from 2pm.

Two of the float designs are already in production, including the Bakkavor Staff Shop Committee sponsored float, Oliver! – Please sir, I want some more. The Donington in Bloom float is also taking shape and the Flower Queen’s Float is being updated for 2012.

Another design which will be making an appearance next year is taken from an English nursery rhyme, Sing a Song of Sixpence and the theme for the float will be Four and Twenty Blackbirds, expect a large pie!

The 54th world-famous Spalding Flower Parade will feature magnificent displays of flowers with breath-taking floats decorated with thousands of hand-pinned tulip heads. As well as fabulous street entertainers, colourful and vibrant marching bands and local music performers, there will be a host of creative local community entries. The Parade starts its journey at 2pm from the Springfield’s Events Centre and follows a 3-mile journey, finishing at the Sir Halley Stuart Playing Fields, with a free-to-enter finale between 4-6pm.

The Spalding Flower Parade is a spectacular day out with excitingly designed floats based on the theme for 2012 of Food Glorious Food. As well as the Flower Parade there will be lots to see and do in the Springfield’s Arena over the Parade weekend which covers Saturday 5th to Monday 7th May.
