The definitive start to the English summer gardening season, RHS Chelsea Flower Show (24-28 May 2011, tickets from £15 to £47) is the ultimate event in the gardening calendar. It’s the place to see and be seen. World class show gardens, the finest plants and innovative products make this the special show of the year.
At the RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show (5-10 July 2011, tickets from £14.50 to £32.50), the Palace provides a spectacular backdrop for a host of beautiful Show and Conceptual gardens, a huge floral marquee and spectacular Edible Garden display. The bank of the Long Water will be transformed into a breathtaking set of an Indian wedding, which will wow mum before she indulges in some retail therapy – and with over 600 shopping opportunities available she will be spoilt for choice.
RHS Flower Show Tatton Park (20 – 24 July 2011, tickets from £19.50 to £28) is the highlight of the North of England’s gardening calendar and the new Ladies’ Day taking place on Thursday 21 July promises to be the ideal day out for mums and daughters alike. Highlights will include talks, demonstrations, fashion shows and cocktails. In addition to innovative gardens and features, there’s also plenty of great shopping to be done - for both mum’s garden and her home.
