The Living Rainforest
Description
Every visit to the Living Rainforest offers a unique natural experience – a new flower in bloom, fresh bananas hanging overhead or an emerging butterfly. Discover the wonders over 600 rainforest plant and animal species, including rare and endangered species, and as you wander beneath the canopy of tropical trees and plants, watch out for free roaming butterflies and birds. Situated in the Berkshire countryside, we are an all weather attraction open year round. We recommend you allow up to half a day for your visit.
The Living Rainforest is also family friendly and our great outdoor play area allows kids to let off steam in a safe environment, while adults can relax on the sun terrace with a cappuccino. You may also like to choose from the selection of organic and fair-trade food available at our cafe, including soft drinks as well as rainforest-friendly tea and coffee.
New to The Living Rainforest, in summer 2008, will be a ‘Green’ Greenhouse. This, our third rainforest glasshouse, is designed to optimise energy efficiency and store summer heat for winter re-use in our greenhouses, setting an example for horticulturalists and visitor centres across the country.
