BBC Gardeners’ World Live 2006, the show for gardeners by gardeners will open its doors on Wednesday 14th June for a five-day horticultural celebration.  On Wednesday 14th June the award winning presenter of This Morning, Phillip Schofield will join thousands of visitors but will have the special experience of receiving a rose dedicated in his honour.
‘The Schofield Rose’ named for Phillip and his wife Stephanie is a vivid scarlet bloom that opens to revel bright yellow stamens at the heart.  The dainty bloom will brighten up even the dullest of days.  A royalty from each rose sold will benefit CHASE Hospice Care for Children for whom Phillip is a Patron.
Adam Pasco comments: “It is a pleasure to welcome Phillip to BBC Gardeners’ World Live and to dedicate this dramatic rose to him.  Phillip is a well-loved figure in public life and I’m sure that many visitors will be keen to get their hands on ‘The Schofield Rose’, especially with the royalties going to such a great cause.”
Phillip Schofield says: “It is a real honour to receive this rose on behalf of Stephanie and myself.  When the weather is this good there is nothing better than sitting outside at home, so I’m looking forward to adding our rose to the garden.”
Along with the rest of the public attending Gardeners World Live 2006, Phillip will enjoy the variety of gardening inspiration and entertainment available at the show including:

·         More than 40 hours of live demonstrations over the 5 days from celebrities and experts such as Monty Don, Alan Titchmarsh, Joe Swift, Carol Klein and Diarmuid Gavin, as well as celebrity chefs, Brian Turner and Sophie Grigson
·         More than 40 inspiring show gardens displayed within both the indoor and outdoor areas
·         More than 100 select nurseries from across Britain showcased within the RHS Floral Marquee
·         The Grow It! Experience that will encourage gardeners to propagate their own fruit and vegetables naturally thus reducing reliance on chemicals and creating wildlife friendly habitats
·         Family Sunday – Nurturing the next generation of British gardeners
BBC Gardeners’ World Live is also delighted to reveal that it will be the gardening show of choice for a high profile individual in public life, details of which will be issued prior to the show.
