Announcement 15 November 2006

Marshalls plc is to sponsor the Royal Horticultural Society’s (RHS) Chelsea Flower Show for the next three years, it was announced today.

The sponsorship will help the RHS, the UK’s leading gardening charity, to fund work to help gardeners and advance horticulture through its gardens, events, education programmes and scientific research. The partnership provides opportunities for Marshalls, the UK’s leading manufacturer of superior and innovative hard-landscaping products, to raise brand awareness and to promote high standards of garden design and installation.

Graham Holden, Marshalls Chief Executive, said, "We are delighted to be entering into this association with the RHS, and the world famous Chelsea Flower Show, which attracts the highest calibre of exhibitors, designers and contractors. Supporting this prestigious event is in keeping with Marshalls’ aim to be the leading hard landscape transformation company in the UK. Chelsea is a natural platform for us to promote quality garden design and installation as an integral part of our strategy to meet consumer needs. At a time when we are broadening our garden and landscape product initiatives, this sponsorship will enable us to build consumer brand awareness."

Inga Grimsey, Director General of the RHS said, "We welcome Marshalls as the new sponsor of the Chelsea Flower Show. Marshalls has accessible garden design and landscaping solutions at the forefront of its business, so there should be a strong cultural fit with the show. Marshalls shares the RHS’s passion for promoting the enjoyment of gardens and gardening, and for securing a healthy future for horticulture."
