Hillier celebrate as they win a 66th consecutive Chelsea Gold medal
Hillier Nurseries have overcome a difficult growing season to win their 66th consecutive Chelsea Gold medal with a spectacular exhibit on the theme of „Feel Good about Gardening?. This is the longest unbroken run of medals in the history of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
After 10 days of mud, sweat and toil on site, 3500 plants came together to form a series of interlinking gardens, exploring the ways that gardening and gardens can make you feel good.
“Gardening makes me feel good, but winning Chelsea Gold medals makes me feel fantastic!” says Andrew McIndoe, designer of the Hillier Chelsea Exhibit and Hillier's Managing Director. “It is the ultimate accolade in the horticultural world, and a great result for a huge team effort. ”
“I am extremely proud of the Hillier team. A 66th Chelsea Gold medal on top of the award of „International Grower of the Year? is a fantastic achievement. Ricky Dorlay, our veteran Plant Preparer, did a brilliant job in the face of a severe winter and blistering spring temperatures. His 46 years of staging Chelsea stood us in good stead.“
From the active spaces of the Tone Up Trail, the Flex on a Deck and Core Values gardens to the reflective, relaxing spaces of the Garden of Contemplation, Wildlife Garden, Feel Good Garden and the decadent, luxuriant Indulgence Garden, the Hillier exhibit is a great source of inspiration for Chelsea visitors to recreate in their own gardens.
