IFEX will include two new conceptive zones and will be held concurrently with a new garden show, the International Garden and Exterior Expo Tokyo (GARDEX) to expand business opportunities for participants. Such expansions will set IFEX on a steady growth path towards becoming Asia’s leading flower and garden trade show.

Heavy International Participation
Reflecting yearly record-breaking success of IFEX, industry giants have joined the bandwagon to exhibit their latest and best products at the 2007 show. From overseas, IFEX will welcome 50% more exhibitors from South America than in 2006 reflecting the increase of cut flower exports to Japan, with 20 exhibitors from Columbia, 7 from Ecuador, and Guatemala organizing their first official country pavilion at IFEX in 2007. Emerging countries such as Ethiopia, Kenya, and Tanzania will be joining as well, and country pavilions include Italy, Dubai, South Korea, Taiwan, Australia, Columbia, and Guatemala.

Expanding Show with Rise in International Visitors
Since its first edition in 2004, IFEX has continued to expand in scale each year, and in 2006, gathered 619 exhibitors and 24,016 visitors from around the world. New Conceptive Zones at IFEX
Reflecting the growth of certain flower sectors, two new zones will commence at IFEX this year: the “Preserved Flower Collection” and the “IFEX Flower Living”. Preserved flowers have become increasingly popular in Japan for purposes ranging from gifts to weddings, with most flower shops selling a variety of such products. Leading preserved flower material companies as well as top designers have booked their spaces at the Preserved Flower Collection. As well, stylish floral interior design and lifestyle goods from Japan and the world will unveil their high-design flower interior products at IFEX Flower Living.
Special Events: Flower Arrangement Shows and Educational Seminars
Definitely not to be missed, special demonstrations by world-renowned floral designers and flower artists as well as a number of educational seminars will be held during the show. IFEX will welcome French florist Yannick Suznjev, Australian flower designer Richard Go, and American flower artist Donaldo Radovich, as well as prominent Japanese ikebana artists.
Performances range under themes including the latest bridal arrangements to flower displays incorporating latest trends from around the world. Educational seminars will cover a wide range of interesting topics for all segments of the flower and garden industry from retailers to manufacturers.
GARDEX adds new dimension to IFEX
The new concurrent International Garden & Exterior Expo Tokyo (GARDEX) will debut in October, reflecting the huge and mature market in Japan, with a majority of the population being garden-lovers keen in investing in their surroundings and streetscape. Many companies have chosen GARDEX as the ideal venue to tap into this market, including garden industry giants from all over Japan and a number of garden goods companies from Taiwan. Also, Gardenex, the UK Garden and Leisure Federation, will assemble 14 companies to make up a UK pavilion at GARDEX.
Organized by Japan Floral Marketing Association (JFMA) and Reed Exhibitions Japan Ltd., IFEX is not only the best place to source products and conduct business, but also the ideal venue to learn of the latest trends in the flower industry. Information on access to venue, application for free invitation tickets, and special hotel discounts are available on the official IFEX website at: www.ifex.jp/english.
Those interested in exhibiting at the 2008 show or curious about what the Japanese flower market has to offer are also encouraged to visit. Special onsite guidance by show management is available for those who wish to discuss business opportunities at IFEX.
