IFEX 2006 International Flower Show Expo Tokyo Japan 19 - 21 October 2006
IFEX expands by 70% with 600 companies exhibiting from 25 countries
The 3rd International Flower Expo Tokyo (IFEX 2006) will be held from October 19 to 21 (Thurs to Sat), 2006 at Makuhari Messe, Tokyo Japan. This event is co-organized by Japan Floral Marketing Association and Reed Exhibitions Japan Ltd.
After only two years IFEX has been established as the leading exhibition in Asia for flowers and garden supplies. This year the show will expand by 70% .
As part of the 1st Five Year Plan created during its inaugural year, IFEX aims to become the largest show in Asia by 2008 with 1000 exhibitors. Almost all the space was already sold out months prior to the show this year, and 600 companies from 25 countries, including 138 new exhibitors, will join the third edition of this event.
Domestic exhibitors also increased from 332 last year to 400 this year! All the major seed companies such as Kirin, Sakata, Takii, Miyoshi and Suntory shall exhibit. Growers from different prefectures shall also exhibit thus offering an exciting place for negotiations with growers and licensing deals. Thus IFEX has come to be the most important exhibition of its kind in Asia and new companies from all over the world are eager to exhibit this year. New exhibitors include rose seedlings manufacturer DAVID AUSTIN from Britain and the major flower market SANREMO FLOWER MARKET from Italy, etc. bringing the number of new exhibitors to 200 compared to 130 last year.
IFEX shall host 9 country pavilions up from 5 last year. Italy, Colombia, Kenya and the Emirate of Dubai shall join Korea, Taiwan, China, Equador and America this year.
Garden zone increases by three times this year
The Garden zone will increase three times in scale compared to last year with all products necessary for gardening such as soil, fertilizer, exteriors, and garden supplies. Major domestic manufacturers and wholesalers within this category such as Iris Oyama, Green pot, Takasho, and Matsuo trading shall also exhibit. Moreover, participation from major pot manufacturers in Italy shall double this year, including DEROMA, MARCHIORO and PASQUE BINI who shall exhibit this year. This is a splendid opportunity for buyers from gardening shops, DIY stores, landscape gardeners, home centers and all those people who are looking for new products and technologies. This year shall see and increase in the number of seed companies, growers and a vastly increased gardening section thus promising exciting opportunities for vastly increased trading.
Increased sales reports from IFEX 2006
Many exhibitors reported massive sales at IFEX. "We have a sales expectation of over USD 1million” says Impak a flower material manufacturer. Sales to flower shops and 200 flower schools reached 40,000 USD for Amifa, a flower materials manufacturer. “340 buyers visited our stand in three days. IFEX went beyond all our expectations! We took orders on-site which proved the immediate value of the investment we had made. Orders keep coming following the show and have already amounted to a couple of ten thousand dollars” says Mr. Keith Turbett, International Business Manager, Scheurich (Germany) an exhibitor at the Lifestyle & Interior Décor Zone. “We had a very good fair, meeting 50 new Japanese buyers. We found many good wholesale buyers as well as retailers. Our packaging and wrapping materials sales went up to USD 300,000.
