Graham Ross – Australia’s favourite gardener

Graham Ross is Australia’s leading media gardener. He founded his travel company,Ross Garden Tours in 1980 with wife Sandra. Graham is descendant from a long line of well known British gardeners, back to Thomas Hay V.C.O., V.M.H. (1874 – 1952) who was the Superintendent of Hyde and St. James’ Parks and the gardens at Buckingham and Kensington Palaces and Marlborough House during the reign of King George V and Queen Mary.

Thomas’ son Roy Hay M.B.E. (1910 – 1989) was one of Britain’s first media gardeners presenting gardening radio shows, editing Gardener’s Chronicle (now Horticulture Week), and publishing many gardening titles. Roy was credited with founding the Dig for Victory campaign after WW2 and for the Britain in Bloom campaign, that continues today.

Graham continues this legacy presenting gardening for radio and television. He publishes a quarterly journal for his Garden Clinic™ Club, the largest garden club in Australia. His first garden tour was to Japan in 1980 and he has enjoyed sharing his love of gardens on over 400 tours ever since.

Now in its 29th year Ross Garden Tours offers an unrivalled programme of luxury garden tours all over the world.

Beyond the Boundaries
When you travel with Ross Tours gates will unlock into private gardens and plant collections all over the world.

Sandra and Graham Ross have a lifetime of experience and contacts in the horticultural world to enrich your holiday experience.

These friends, garden owners, local guides, curators of botanic gardens, private estates and museums will make you welcome.

Standard of Excellence
Every itinerary is carefully planned with attention to detail so that you will have a trouble-free holiday. Special arrangements are made for shows and exhibitions. For example our groups visit the Chelsea Flower Show on Royal Horticultural Society Members’ Day to avoid the crowds on public days.

Superior Accommodation
All our travellers stay in luxury and superior 4 or 5 star hotels. The only exception being in remote areas in Australia where accommodation options are limited.

Small Groups
Small groups allow for more freedom and flexibility and better access to the tour leader. Your travel companions share a love of fine gardens, good food and wine, and an interest in the culture of each region. This all makes for good company.

Tour Leaders
Ross Tour leaders are all qualified horticulturists with experience in travel. This elite team has been hand picked to manage daily itineraries and provide horticultural commentary throughout the tour. They will do whatever is necessary to make your tour an experience never to forget.
