Description

Steel structures in a contemporary setting

The client was interested in the Art Deco period of the early twentieth century, collecting Clarice Cliff pottery and Charles Rennie Mackintosh furniture. She was concerned that effect of the existing water sculpture was lost against a large shed recently erected in the neighbouring garden. Blue powder coated metal mesh screens of different heights were placed behind the water feature to enclose the space while screening the shed behind and providing a backdrop for the water feature. Polished stainless steel was used to reflect the sky and to help alleviate the problem with the build up of algae in the shallow pond. A raised deck shaded with a metal pergola in matching blue provides a relaxing spot in the sunny part of the garden.
