GARDENING SCOTLAND, the national gardening and outdoor living show, will celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2009.

For the fourth year in a row there will be no increase in ticket prices and a host of new attractions are planned for the event.

New for 2009 will be a People’s Choice Award when visitors on the first day of the show will be able to vote for their Floral favourite exhibit.

For the first time the Show will also feature a Plant Heritage Village made up of specialist gardening societies and a whole series of workshops is planned where some of the UK’s leading gardeners will be giving hands-on advice.

Central to the show as always will be the Dobbies Floral Hall where growers from across the country will be exhibiting and selling some of the finest plants to be found anywhere.

There will be plenty of bargains too, with gardening accessories on offer at unbeatable prices and The Big Back Garden will be back, celebrating all the fun that families can get out of their gardens.

Gardening Scotland chairman, Jim McColl says: “Over the course of a decade Gardening Scotland has become the highlight of the year for many gardeners and we have an extra special Show lined up for 2009.

“There will be plenty of inspiration for gardeners, from miniature Pallet Gardens to the Show Gardens themselves and, of course, the Beechgrove team will be on hand to meet visitors throughout the three days of the event.”

Gardening Scotland 2009 will take place from Friday, May 29 until Sunday, May 31 at The Royal Highland Centre, Edinburgh.

Tickets go on sale Monday 17th November.  Advance ticket prices are £12 (Fri) and £10 (Sat and Sun). (Tickets on the gate will cost £14/£12.) Children under 16 go free.
