Garden Designers and Landscapers

Good garden design has become increasingly important in recent years as houseowners want their gardens to look as beautifully created as their homes. And many welcome a little help from the professional garden designer.

Whether you want the complete makeover or just some advice on how to improve a section of the garden a designer can be invaluable to help you realise those rather vague dreams of perfect plot. You have probably been inspired by books by garden designers like John Brookes, but your own personal designer can advise on the kind of plants best suited to your garden as well as suggest where to place paths, build a pergola and hide the house across the way.

Here on The Gardening Website you will find garden designers listed both by town, city, county or region and so you can easily find a local garden designer guru. There are details of how to contact them and links where they are available and if you can, visit their own completed gardens to see what they have achieved.

The Gardening Website brings you information and details on Garden Designers throughout the UK. Garden Designers in the UK are split across Garden Designers by region and Garden Designers by town and Garden Designers by city. These include national and international Garden Designers as well as independent Garden Designers. So for the best information on Garden Designers in the UK, Garden Designers by region and Garden Designers by town and city you'll find www.thegardeningwebsite.co.uk– THE Gardening Website is the place to find them.

We even have Landscape Companies from as far away as Australia on THE Gardening WEBSITE

Two Effective Ways You Can Take Care of the Path in Your Backyard

Having a clear path in your backyard and garden is a sign of a professional gardener who knows what she’s doing. The reason is that the path is very prominent in gardens, and whenever someone visits, it is the first thing they notice. So, are you ready to join the ranks of those professional gardeners and learn how to keep an immaculate path? Read on and find out.

Keep Your Shed in Order

You might be wondering why the first thing we talk about is your shed instead of anything related to your garden path? It’s rather simple, really, because our experience tells us that how a clean gardeners shed has a direct bearing on how clean is their garden path. There are a few reasons why:
  • Most obviously, it shows the gardener’s work ethic. If a gardener takes care of their shed regularly and doesn’t let it fill up with junk, it is unlikely that they’ll just let their garden path accumulate all kinds of dirt. That’s why if you want to develop a work ethic for cleaning, you can teach yourself by cleaning up your shed regularly.
  • What kind of tools do you need to clean your garden path? Where can you find those tools? Every tool you need to clean the path sits somewhere in the shed, and what will happen if your shed is a complete mess? We’ve talked with many gardeners who’ve put off cleaning their garden’s path just because they shuddered to think about how they’ll find the tools they need in their messy shed.
  • Normally, we don’t like to do things in bite-sized chunks, but we rather do everything in a day, and herein lies the third problem. If you’ve put off cleaning your garden, the path, and the shed for a while, you’ll tell yourself you’ll do them all together, but when push comes to shove, you’ll just feel depressed thinking about how much work you’ve put off. This is a recipe for ultimate procrastination, and you have to escape it by cleaning your shed regularly.

Learn Weed Control

Do you want to keep the path clean while doing half the work? This section is for you. With every gardening problem, weed is usually at the heart of this issue. If you don’t know how to properly control weed growth and stop it from regrowing every other week, you’ll find yourself cleaning your backyard’s path constantly - it will unnecessarily increase your workload, and you can put a stop to it.

While resorting to recommended landscape gardeners in Edinburgh or elsewhere will help you deal with the problem much more effectively, there are still things you can do:
  • Manure and mulching are effective all-natural ways of dealing with weed. They prevent most the growth of many kinds of weed while creating a haven for useful organisms to stay and help your soil.
  • Herbicides are extremely effective chemicals that can eliminate any kind of weed in a matter of days if not hours, but you should only use them as a last resort. Research after research shows they are extremely harmful to our ecology, and overusing them will kill your soil. You have to be careful with them.
  • If you want something amazingly simple, you can use the elbow grease to pull out the weed. Just make sure you pull out the roots, too, because it might regrow if you don’t.
