Our theme for 2012 is Embarkation
for Dangerous Liaisons and is a theme which takes aspects of potential
inspiration from the gardens conception into consideration. The first
are the paintings, Embarkation for Cythera & Embarkation to Cythera
both by the French Rococo artist Jean-Antoine Watteau. The second
inspiration is the epistolary novel, Les Liaisons Dangereuses by
Choderlos de Lacios.
The Rococo Garden Trust is inviting
interested artists to use the theme in ways which they find inspiring.
